Just as John had promised, after answering questions at home about where he was going, he dressed a little nicely. They were only going out for giant burritos after all but it sure didn't hurt to try and impress. He showed up and looked up at the house before slipping out and walking up to the door. Surprised when Jack opened the door.

Jack spoke with him a bit. Trying to find out about this guy that was coming for his daughter. Jack called for Kim, all while still eying John up. John for his part didn't waver under that stare. He stood calm and smiling while waiting for Kim.

Kim had been excited about this date and as soon as she got home, she was telling Sam about John while she helped her cook dinner. Sam was happy for her but knew Jack would be less than thrilled. She finally had to tell her dad since she wasn't eating dinner. She didn't give away all that much yet. There was still a lot she didn't know.

She was in her bedroom with Sam when she heard the door bell and cringed, knowing Jack had to answer the door. She knew if John survived this first meeting, he'd probably survive Jack. "Can you go make sure dad doesn't interrogate him too much?" she asked Sam who laughed but headed to the living room, slipping up beside Jack and taking his hand in hers.

"Would you like to come in? Kim will be down soon."
