Just as John had promised, after answering questions at home about where he was going, he dressed a little nicely. They were only going out for giant burritos after all but it sure didn't hurt to try and impress. He showed up and looked up at the house before slipping out and walking up to the door. Surprised when Jack opened the door.

Jack spoke with him a bit. Trying to find out about this guy that was coming for his daughter. Jack called for Kim, all while still eying John up. John for his part didn't waver under that stare. He stood calm and smiling while waiting for Kim.

"Wow definitely sums that up." He was breathless, causing his voice to deepen a little.

The deeper tone of his voice definitely caught her attention and she made a cute little pleased sound. "Maybe we should go somewhere else." she suggested, out on the beach or anywhere they could be alone together.

"Lead the way, I'll follow you anywhere." He definitely liked the sound she made.

"Come on, let's go out on the beach." She took his hand, leading him out to where they could walk along the beach. "Then we can get out of here and go back to my place?"

"I would like that, as long as your father doesn't try to murder me." He grinned and laced his fingers with hers and walked down to the beach with her.

She smiled as they headed to the beach. "I have faith in Sam, that she can keep him distracted."

"How Rachel is with my dad." He chuckled softly.

"They're pretty good at it, aren't they?" she chuckled, Kim still coming home sometimes and finding them curled up under a blanket on the couch. "Rachel's your stepmom?"

"Yeah she is. Kinda cool too." He chuckled and smirked playfully. "Guess us men are just easy."

"I like hanging out with Sam and seeing dad so happy." She nudged his arm with her own at that comment, a little chuckle escaping her lips. "Very easy to please."

"Maybe I won't be so easy." He nudged her back, even if he knew he probably would be. He however had no complaints at the idea.

"Oh, you think so?" she asked, a smirk firmly planted on her face. "Dad never was that easy with my mother but they had issues."

"It'll be fun to see." He chuckled and nodded. "Yeah same with my dad and mom."

"Yeah, it will be." she chuckled, knowing that if they ever got to the point in a relationship as their parents, he'd probably be just as easy. "It's weird, isn't it? How the second marriage is better than the first ever was."

"Well shit, hope that's not true for everyone." He smiled gently.

"I don't think it is. My mother just didn't understand dad's job and when he'd come back from assignments, sometimes he'd have problems and she just didn't know how to handle that." she explained, glancing up at him as they walked along. "But Sam, she's an agent, too. Actually, dad's her boss. She understands his job."

"Not sure what happened with my folks. Think he worked too much." He kept her close as they walked. "Then she got a promotion, and I guess she just expected him to pack up and move."

"My mom had her own company and all she did was work. When dad wasn't out of town, she'd bring her work home." Although Kim suspected she didn't spend all that time working. "So your mom lives here in LA and your dad and stepmom in New York?"

"Yeah, but they come out to see me and my sister." He smiled gently looking over at her.

"Sam's from New York. Her brother still lives there." she told him, looking out over the ocean and then glancing up at him. "Do you ever go visit them?"

"I do sometimes yeah. My dad's job keeps him busy, and so does Rachel's." He relaxed, easily able to hold a conversation with her, and he was enjoying that.

"What's Rachel do?" she asked, enjoying actually getting to know each other.

"Uh something fashiony?" He chuckled softly and shrugged. "Something to do with Ralph Lauren. Merchandising I think. I'm not really sure."

She chuckled softly, not surprised he didn't know exactly what she did, not that Kim had a clue. "Sounds like a good job and hey, if it includes a discount on clothes, that'd be a bonus."

"It does, she bought me and my dad nice suits." He chuckled at that.
